Caring and supportive adults partner with Girl Scouts to inspire 2.7 million girl members to achieve their dreams. You are part of a national and international movement devoted to helping girls grow into competent, caring women. Indeed the Cahaba Council could not possibly provide the wide range of services we offer without the generous donations of time and energy that we receive from dedicated volunteers.

No matter what your experience, your age, or the amount of time you have to give, we can use you. Listed below are some of the opportunities:

  • Troop Leadership – Organizes and provides for girl meetings

  • Fundraising Chair – Organizes fundraising campaign for troop or service area
  • Program Consultant – Shares skill or knowledge with girls
  • Mentor – Works with an individual girl to provide life or job skills
  • Troop Committee – Provides assistance to troop leadership
  • Registrar – Handles registration paperwork
  • Trainer – Instructs adults on various topics
  • Waiting List Leader – Organizes and provides for monthly girl meetings until permanent leadership is secured
  • Troop Organizer – Recruits girls and adults to organize new troops
  • Public Relations – Assists with PR and media relations
  • Event Chair – Organizes and conducts program or special event
  • Cookie Manager – Manages cookie sale for a troop or service area

Girl Scouts provide girls with adult role models (both women and men) who are competent, generous, and willing to share their interests and skills. The girls need YOU as that role model.

Adult Recognitions 2008

Adult Girl Scouts contribute a lot of time, effort, and heart serving the girls of Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama.  Annually we recognize those volunteers who go beyond the expectations of their positions through a formal awards program.  You may nominate someone for one of these awards by completing a Volunteer Recognition Nomination form or submitting a letter of endorsement in support of someone's nomination.  All nominations must be submitted to the service area no later than Wednesday, 3/7/2008 with the letters of endorsement attached.  Please go to service area Web site for more details on awards criteria and nomination and letter of endorsement forms or contact:
